Marrakech City Bike Tour

You’ll follow a carefully planned scenic route through this charismatic city, taking in all the best sites, without having to tackle any tricky or busy sections. All tours are designed to be as safe as possible, with all safety equipment provided. Begin your tour in the more modern Menars district. Passing Mohammed IV Avenue and the 400-hectare Agdal Gardens – whose name derives from the Berber for ‘walled meadow’. From here you’ll pedal your way towards the Medina. This ancient city district is a UNESCO World Heritage Centre. Founded back in the 11th century it’s the long-time centre of political, economic and cultural life in Marrakech. Within the Medina you can cycle past sites including the stunning Koutoubia Mosque (whose minaret is to Marrakech what the Eiffel Tower is to Paris) and the historic Kasbah. Explore the battlements, discover huge wooden doors and secret gardens. You’ll stop for a closer look at architectural treasures such as the Bahia Palace, an ornate 19th century nobleman’s house with lush gardens. You can also visit the Saadian Tombs, which weren’t discovered until the 20th century but revealed many of the city’s secrets. Stop for refreshments in the Djemaa El Fnaa Square. It’s the city’s main market and meeting place and throbs with locals and tourists looking for a bargain. It’s one of the highlights of any Marrakech visit, bustling with stalls selling all sorts of Moroccan goods and crafts. Palmeraie Extension You’ll also cycle out of the city towards the vast oasis of Palmeraie. This lush green area is covered in palms and olive trees. There are beautiful views of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains in the distance and an iconic photo stop. From here, you’ll head towards Gueliz, a modern and trendy part of the city. You’ll find it offers a totally different perspective on life in Marrakech helping you to understand the people that call this great city home.
